New nude pictures of Elizabeth Wong circulated on the internet

Shah Alam :New pictures of Elizabeth Wong have surfaced, less than a week after the announcement that she was not stepping down as Bukit Lanjan assemblywoman and state executive councillor. It was learnt that the pictures, showing Wong sleeping in a black camisole on a sofa, surfaced in several blogs on April 14, a day before the announcement that she would resume with her duties.

Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said it was the public’s responsibility to hand over the pictures to the police.He reminded the public that those caught in possession of the pictures can be prosecuted.

“Those who have her pictures should hand them over to the police or the menteri besar’s office for us to forward them to the authorities.

“I will ask the police to investigate the authenticity of the pictures,” Khalid said.

Her personal assistant Chong Pai Chee said Wong has not lodged a fresh police report on the new pictures, adding that she was leaving the matter to her lawyers.

Wong was earlier threatened that more intimate pictures of her would be circulated but she had decided to put the incident behind her and resume her duties as state Exco member in charge of tourism, consumer affairs and environment.

Wong, who attended a state event to give out funds for Chinese schools with the menteri besar, here, yesterday, refused to talk to reporters after the function.

Police has yet to trace Helmi Malek, the main suspect linked to the distribution of her earlier pictures. Helmi is believed to be in a neighbouring country.

Datuk Suhaili claims trial for cheating

KOTA KINABALU: Datuk Suhaili Abdul Rahman, who was due to be reappointed as Labuan Corporation chairman this week, claimed trial here yesterday to cheating a bank manager 13 years ago.

The former Labuan member of parliament is alleged to have used a different identity to secure a loan and overdraft facility to purchase a property at Api-Api Centre here in April 1996.

Suhaili is alleged to have signed, as a guarantor, a document called an Application for Accommodation Face Sheet for a term loan of RM110,000 and an overdraft facility of RM50,000 using Ahmad Suhaily Abdul Rahman (NRIC H0552181) as his identity.

Sessions Court judge Caroline Bee Majanil set five days to hear the trial from Feb 8 to 12 next year and set bail at RM20,000, with RM3,000 deposited, in one surety.

The prosecution claimed Suhaili used the document to convince then Malayan Banking Berhad manager Ismail Jantan to approve the loan application, which was eventually approved to Syarikat Saraequity Sdn Bhd.

Today, Suhaili is expected to be charged in the magistrate's court with giving a false statement in a statutory declaration signed by a justice of peace in 1995.

Suhaili said his term as chairman of Labuan Corporation, the administrative body of the island federal territory, ended on March 31.

"The appointment was supposed to be renewed this week but with this case on, I am not too sure if it will be. This will depend on a decision by the Federal Territories minister," he said after posting bail.

Angry wives chop off cheating husband's manhood

NEW DELH:Two young women frustrated with their husbands'' sexual promiscuity decided to teach their partners a painful lesson -- by slicing off their manhood.

One of the women, a 39-year-old from Katihar district in Bihar state, unable to cope with her husband''s persistent illicit affair with another woman from the same village, admonished her husband several times but blew her top when she caught him in the act with his ex-beau in the family bedroom.

After a morning quarrel last week, the wife decided to settle her vengeance by trying to slice off Singh's private organ using a sharp blade.

"It was a domestic dispute and a case was reported on the woman. She is out on bail and living with her parents now. She had attacked her husband using a sharp object; he suffered minor injuries and is fit now," Katihar superintendent of police Anil Kishore Yadav told Bernama.

Villagers had rushed the husband, in his 30s and a peon at a local school, to a nearby hospital where doctors managed to save him from any worse trauma.
But the anger on infidelity reached a peak and was far scarier in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, where another fuming wife chopped off her husband's manhood early this month after discovering that he was having sexual relations with other women.

In a well-planned revenge, the 35-year-old wife from Amraiwadi district lured her unfaithful husband to bed after sedating him during dinner.

Thinking he was in for a nice bondage sexual rendezvous, the excited 30-year-old husband, got into bed where the wife tied both his hands and legs to the bed using ropes. In a fit of rage, she cut off his penis using a sharp knife.

"She had nicely planned the whole attack after she caught her husband doing it with his ex-woman. She gave him some sedation and tied his limbs and hands to the bed. Once he got excited, she chopped off his organ.

"The organ was completely cut off and they brought it in two pieces. Doctors did some skin grafting but could not reconnect it. It was badly cut and he can''t function," Dr Gautam Sharma, assistant administrator at the Civil Hospital in Amraiwadi, where the victim was treated, told Bernama.

Police detained the woman for questioning and the husband was discharged from hospital. (NST)

PKR slammed Khir Toyo for self approving to purchase Merc S Class - Malaysiakini

SHAH ALAM: Datuk Seri Dr Khir Toyo had approved the purchase of a Mercedes S350L worth almost RM1 million for his personal use with funds from Kumpulan Darul Ehsan Berhad when he was Selangor menteri besar.

This resulted in the state having to bear the extravagant purchase, said Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, the political secretary to Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.

He was responding to Dr Khir's statement who said that the RM2 million purchase of 15 Toyota Camry cars showed that the Pakatan Rakyat leaders were more concerned about their needs than the welfare of Selangor people.

The opposition leader also questioned why the purchase was not made through an open tender and the state government should focus on fulfilling their election manifesto.

In a statement yesterday, Nik Nazmi said the open tender was not used because the cars were bought at market price for RM130,000 each.


The state government received its fleet of Camry cars on Friday.

As for the state's Proton Perdana V6 cars, those below two years old would be retained and used as pool cars.

Rakyat Malaysia juga sudah mulai sedar dan faham dengan mainan politik murahan BN. Ketua Pembangkang seharusnya membuat kajian terperinci terlebih dahulu sebelum mengeluarkan sebarang kenyataan agar segala komen itu dilihat lebih membina daripada menfitnah dan tidak terkena ke mukanya sendiri.

Shahrizat to challenge Rafidah for Wanita UMNO leadership - Malaysiakini

PETALING JAYA: Barely a day after Wanita Umno chief Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz announced that the wing’s power transition plan would remain as planned in June, her deputy Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil has sprung a surprise.

She has decided to challenge Rafidah for the Wanita Umno leadership. Highly-placed sources said that Shahrizat had made up her mind to go for the wing’s top post which Rafidah has held for more than 20 years.

Shahrizat is expected to take Kuala Kangsar Wanita division chief and lawyer Datuk Kamiliah Ibrahim as her running mate.

Sources said Shahrizat wanted to exhaust all avenues before deciding on a challenge. But the straw that broke the camel’s back was the marathon Wanita exco meeting on Monday that saw Rafidah loyalists bringing out the knives.

Rafidah’s loyalists insisted that the transition plan go ahead at the five-and-a-half-hour meeting.

Shahrizat was chastised for issuing a press statement — a day before the exco meeting — in which she asked Rafidah to consider going in March instead of June.

One exco member said she was taken aback by the language that several of the critics used.

“They ran her down, insulted her and bullied her into agreeing,” said the exco member.

Her critics were also upset about the nominations she got and impli-ed she had conspired with Kamilia to get the endorsement.

She was even criticised for not inviting Rafidah to her Hari Raya open house. It is understood she received scores of SMSes after news broke out of the Wanita exco proceedings and it pushed her towards her decision.

Some scolded her for caving in to Rafidah, others expressed disappointment and said they felt betrayed, while others urged her to change her mind.

An aide said she spent half the night reading the SMSes, some of which were “hate mail” because some of the women were angry she had not resisted the transition plan.

Moreover, she has won 72 nominations against the 118 secured by Rafidah for the Wanita leadership.

Segambut Wanita chief and film producer Ruhani Abdul Rahman sa-id Shahrizat should go for it because “we are ready for a change.”

“A June transition would make Shahrizat an acting Wanita leader without a deputy for the next three years. What is the point of that?” said Ruhani.(TheStar)

Rear seatbelts compulsory by 2009

KUALA LUMPUR: The sixty day countdown to the compulsory wearing of rear seatbelts begins tomorrow.

Beginning Saturday, the authorities will be conducting daily enforcement operations to ensure motorists start wearing the seatbelts even before it becomes compulsory from Jan 1.

Road Safety Department director-general Datuk Suret Singh said if motorists did not want to have their journeys interrupted, then they should wear the seatbelts.

“If not, the police will stop you, question you and give you a pep talk,” he told reporters Friday after carrying out a road safety advocacy campaign at the Sungai Besi highway here.

Suret Singh said research among some 2,000 respondents had shown that 70%-75% were aware of the importance of wearing rear seatbelts.

“However, 60% said they would only start using it when it was compulsory while 80% are not even aware that it would be compulsory effective Jan 1.”

Suret Singh also cautioned those with children saying that those under five years were not allowed to wear adult seatbelts and needed to be put on child safety seats.

“As for those between the ages of five and 10, they can use the adult seatbelt but will need a booster for height,” he said.

Suret Singh added that Proton and Perodua would be announcing in early December the schedule for the free retrofitting of cars without rear seatbelts.

He said motorists owning such cars should not feel the need to rush as the department had given the manufacturers a period of three years to ensure all these cars were retrofitted.(NST)

Altantuya - Verdict on Friday - Malaysiakini

Kuala Lumpur (290ct):The Shah Alam High Court will be at the centre of attention this Friday when judge Datuk Mohd Zaki Md Yasin delivers the verdict on the sensational murder trial of a Mongolian women, Altantuya Shaariibuu.Mohd Zaki’s verdict will not only decide the fate of the three accused - Chief Inspector Azilah Hadri and Corporal Sirul Azhar Umar (both members of the Special Action Unit, UTK) and a renowned political analyst and strategist Abdul Razak Abdullah Baginda - but will also end wild speculations and rumours relating to the case. This high profile case has generated a big following especially when there were rumours of a public figure linked to the murder, revelations of intimate involvement of one of the accused with the victim and some shady business dealings.

The trial on the gruesome murder of Altantuya who body was blown up using explosives to cover up the crime went on for almost two years with the prosecution winding up their case on June 23.

If the court’s decides a prima facie against the trio, they will have to make their defence or if otherwise they will be discharged and freed.

KEEPING UP THEIR HOPES
When inquired by Bernama on the sidelines of the court proceedings what they would do if they were freed, Azilah, 32, who has an adopted child stated that “there are too many things to do, but above all I want to cuddle my child and hold a thanksgiving feast”. Sirul Azhar, 36, when asked the same only offered a smile, typical of this fomer aide de camp for VIPs who is known to be discreet. On the dock he sits quietly and once in a while he turns toward the members of the media sitting behind him to ask for sweets and pickled fruits.

Meanwhile Abdul Razak, 48, the Executive Director for Malaysian Strategic Research Centre wants to take a break overseas with his only daughter Rowena when everything is over.

Throughout the trial, Abdul Razak was accompanied by his wife Mazlinda Makhzan, his parents and close family members. However, at the initial stages, Mazlinda’s presence made Altantuya’s father, Shaariibuu Setev frown as he claimed she had verbally abused him and court officiers went all out to keep them apart.

Even when Mazlinda was asked on the fate of her husband, she replied:

“I will leave it to Allah. Razak is innocent.” Yet the drama did not end there. The 151 day proceeding witnessed many bizarre and hilarious incidents. Apart from this there was also a change in the presiding judge and the clash between two counsels on who should be representing one of the accused.

BIZARRE INCIDENTS
Abdul Razak caught the attention of the media with some of his antics in the courtroom. He has been noted to throw tantrums and even went to the extent of kicking the dock and cursing others. He kept pushing his counsel Wong Kian Kheong to speed up the trial without any deferment and this certainly incensed Deputy Public Prosecutor Tun Abdul Majid Tun Hamzah who ticked of Wong by saying that Abdul Razak is not the only person in prison.

The media hype had certainly attracted the wrong type of crowd into the courtroom as well. It was obvious some wanted to take advantage of the media coverage to be on the limelight, but for the wrong reasons.

Readers would probably recall the presence of a women dressed like a counsel claiming that she was a representative of peace organisation and had the authority of the police and the Attorney-General’s Department.

She wanted the media attention and would closely follow the cameras and even refused to take a back seat. When there were no seats available she would insist the court officials to make special seating arrangements for her. Her presence was unwelcome and she even dared to intercept the judge.

When her behaviour became intolerable, not only because of her constant nagging but also her handphone that rings often, a police report was made and she eventually disappeared.

During the initial stages of the hearing there appeared another women who claimed that she was a representative of a women’s right organisation carrying a placard condeming Abdul Razak for the brutal slaying of Altantuya. The one women demonstration did not go down well with the police as it was seen as disturbing the public order and the police gave her a warning and told her to leave the court compound.

However, the women in her late 40s remained unfazed and instead shouted back at the unarmed policemen, “I have the rights, you police can stop me using your firearms, let the public be the witness”. 151 DAY TRIAL Azilah and Sirul Azhar who covered their faces using the ’ninja’ mask set a new trend for accused in other cases and when inquired by Bernama why they did so Azilah had this to say: “Life is long way to go, there are something best kept secret.” Another drama that unfolded at the 151 day trial is that a policeman stationed at the courtroom Lans Corporal Othman Abdul Rahman, 47, collapsed when accompanying the three accused to the courtroom and was later confirmed dead due to heart failure. Azilah and Sirul Azhar were alleged to have murdered Altantuya between Lot 12843 and Lot 16735 Mukim Bukit Raja, Shah Alam, between 10 pm 19 Oct and 1 am 20 Oct 2006. The duo were well versed in the use of explosives and are said to have taken the plastic explosives, detonator cord and CLC (cutting liner charge) from the UTK storeroom.

Abdul Razak who is alleged to have abetted with the two UTK members, is said to have committed the crime on Oct 18 2006 at his office at 10th Floor, Bangunan Lembaga Getah Asli Malaysia (LGAM), Jalan Ampang in Kuala Lumpur and the motive of the murder is due to demands and threats from Altantuya.

Based on the evidence adduced from the prosecution witness Deputy Superintendent Muhammad Koey Abdullah, the explosives were probably placed on the victim’s mouth or the upper torso and the impact reduced her bones to fragments. On the puzzle why no traces of the victim’s clothing was found, Dr Mohd Shah Mahmood, the Head of the Forensic Medical Department at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL), explained the victim was probably stripped of her clothing before being blown up.

JUDGE TO PORE OVER 6,000 PAGES OF PROSIDING NOTES

However, lawyer J. Kuldeep Kumar and Datuk Hazman Ahmad who represented Azilah were persistent that their client was no way involved in the murder and the Azilah was not the one who led the police to the crime scene.

Sirul Azhar’s counsel Kamarul Hisham Kamaruddin, Hasnal Redzua Marican and Ahmad Zaidi Zainal pleaded their client’s innocence and stated that he was victimised just because Altantuya’s jewellery were found his home. On Atlantuya’s blood stained snickers found on Sirul Azhar’s four wheel drive, they claimed anyone could have left it there as the vehicle could be accessed by others as well.

Wong who represented Abdul Razak held that his client had nothing to do with Altantuya’s murder and throughout the trial there was no proof that the murder was carried out under Abdul Razak’s behest. He also questioned the failure of the prosecution to call several senior police officers during the trial.

Nevertheless, Mohd Zaki will make his decision based on the evidence provided by the 84 witnesses that has been compiled into 6,000 pages of proceeding notes.

Prior to delivering the decision on the main charge, Mohd Zaki is expected to decide on the prosecution’s application to challenge the credibility of Lans Corporal Rohaniza Roslan (Azilah’s girlfriend), the decision on trial within trial on Altantuya’s jewellery found at Sirul Azhar’s home and on the statement by police that Azilah is the one who led them to the crime scene. Nonetheless, all the allegations and speculations will be put to rest on Friday when Mohd Zaki delivers his verdict. (NST)
